Webinar: How Organizations Implement and Sustain Evidence-Based Practices: Strategies, Tips, and Tools

June 12, 2013 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Hosted by the National Reentry Resource Center

The criminal justice community has progressed significantly in its understanding of evidence-based practices. Yet, translating this knowledge into policies, procedures, and practices within complex organizations tasked with meeting several, often competing goals can be daunting. In addition to initial implementation, organizations are challenged with sustaining compliance and regular evaluation based on the best available evidence of what enhances public safety and improves outcomes for individuals. This webinar will provide an overview of “learning organizations” and present examples of organizations within the criminal justice community as well as in other related fields to illustrate specific evidence-based strategies and practices that improve outcomes. Among the specific organizational aspects to be discussed are: staff recruitment, selection, training and assessment, organizational leadership and communication, best practice sharing, and quality assurance initiatives. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions on these or other related topics.

Date: Wednesday, June 12, 2013
